New Bike Stations in Catania: the city is greener than ever
New year, new life. TMR is pleased to welcome the newcomers of 2022. There will be twenty-five new stations distributed across the entire territory of the city of Catania.
The agreement between AMTS Catania (the metropolitan transport and parking operator of Catania) and TMR was signed today, January 11, as part of the "Sustainability of public services and urban mobility" planning of the National Operational Programme.

Deciding to increase the number of Bike Stations was both a desired and a necessary choice; for us it is always a pleasure to collaborate with the lawyer Giacomo Bellavia, manager of AMTS Catania. The whole Catania area has benefited from the positive change of course, whose key word is sustainability. We at TMR are ready to put our vehicles and our application, youMove, at the service of citizens."
The project, named "Integrated Service 'CTA moving' bike-bus park", involves the installation of stations equipped with muscle-powered and electric bikes, located across the entire surface of the city at the foot of Etna. The goal is to promote more accessible and sustainable transport policies, without precluding access to any citizen or tourist who wants to pursue this sharing mobility choice.
Picking up a bike will be manageable directly with a click, by downloading our app for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. YouMove is a fleet management MaaS platform that allows the integration of local public transport; the application makes it possible to monitor, in real time, vehicle availability and free spots, and to carry out the rental.
To the five areas where our bikes are already present - piazza Stesicoro, piazza Roma, piazza Borsellino, piazza Giovanni XXIII (Central Station) and piazza Leonardo Sciascia - another twenty-five new stations are therefore added. We certainly cannot change the nickname of the "black city", so called because of the characteristic soot scattered by Etna, but it is certain that from today Catania is even greener.
