SUSTAINABILITY AND DIGITALIZATION: THE KEYS TO THE MOBILITY OF THE FUTURE

TMR's address at the mobility conference in Rome

SOSTENIBILITA’ E DIGITALIZZAZIONE: LE CHIAVI PER LA MOBILITA’ DEL FUTURO

"Sustainable and digital development for the mobility of the future" - this was the title of the conference held in Rome last December 20 at the American Studies Center, in collaboration with the C3I National Operational Council of the National Council of Engineers, organized by the LOG.I.CO. Association with sponsorship from Infodrive S.p.A.

When we talk about connectivity, we cannot help but think of mobility. According to recent statistics, about half of the vehicles circulating in Italy are connected to increasingly cutting-edge digital systems, for a sector - that of Connected Cars - worth 1.92 billion euros with eighteen million connected vehicles.

The market is changing, and so is mobility, which is projecting itself toward sustainability for a future marked by progress and change. The services that revolve around the world of Smart Mobility are constantly evolving; users, companies and public administrations are inclined to carry out activities remotely, even in smart cars and vehicles, whose intelligence changes according to needs. New factors come into play, such as digital identity as a fundamental and enabling tool for the mobility of the future. The 14.3 billion for smart mobility and enabling infrastructure, allocated by the PNRR, have activated Italian municipalities - about 60% of them - which have undertaken projects in this sector.

A fully smart future, in which vehicle traffic can be managed by limiting emissions and facilitating travel: the projects undertaken in 2021 touch on several points, including: traffic management in extra-urban areas, autonomous driving, and integration between smart roads and urban mobility.

Programming, planning and choosing have become the imperatives of "digital travel" in which IoT and AI play the leading role and allow consumers to get around in a more suitable and greener way, but also a more economical one, because attention is always paid to one's wallet.

Several speakers took part in the conference: Roberto Sgalla, director of the American Studies Center; Massimo Cerri, president of the Order of Engineers of Rome; Alessandro Astorino, coordinator of the C3I Operational Council; Edoardo Rixi, deputy minister of infrastructure and sustainable mobility; the president of Anas (FS Group), Edoardo Valente who set out a strategic plan of initiatives, increasingly focused on the research and development of cutting-edge and sustainable technologies; Amedeo Teti, president of Log-I-Co; Pierluigi Leone, an expert in business models and digital transformation; Ugo Dibennardo, CEO of TXLogistik; and, finally, our own Tindaro Terranova, sole director of TMR, who in his speech stated:

"We live our profession as a set of unique methodologies; we aim for efficiency while always taking into account the ease of use of our systems. We develop information and communication technologies (ICT), we deal with green tech, IoT & automation, automotive and telematics. youMove is our MAAS-compliant fleet management platform, based on IoT technologies that promotes sustainable mobility in smart cities; our sharing system, entirely designed and built by TMR, suited to small as well as large territorial realities, both public and private, guarantees high performance in terms of system reliability and functionality, durability and solidity of the structures, simplicity and accuracy of the management software, ensuring, moreover, the maximum possibility of customization according to the various needs of the end customer."

Thanking Infodrive, our partner and sponsor of the event held in the capital, Terranova concluded: "We cannot imagine a world without travel. Movement is in the evolution of humankind; we are born as a nomadic species, we can think of our life as a movement through time but also through space. For this reason TMR sets itself the goal of remodeling and reprogramming through IT systems, from application software to IoT; we create new habitats for travel: there are no possibilities without a new mobility."
