Templi di mobilità: Agrigento inaugura il bike sharing firmato youMove®

The agreement for this innovative project aims to promote more accessible and sustainable transport policies for the entire Agrigento area, providing a transport service suited both to citizens and to the many tourists who come to Agrigento to admire its beauty.

Pietro Terranova, CTO of tmr, commented: "Making green mobility more accessible in a city like Agrigento is of fundamental importance. The installation of the bike sharing stations is a deliberate and necessary choice, and we are happy to collaborate with the Municipality of Agrigento, with the mayor, Dr. Francesco Micciche and the entire administration; in particular we thank Eng. Gerlando Principato who, in his role as councillor, followed the design work with us. This positive shift toward sustainability will have a significant impact in the Agrigento area and we at tmr are ready to make our vehicles and our app, youMove, available to citizens."

The project, named Agrigento bike sharing, involves the installation of stations equipped with electric bikes throughout the city, embracing the surrounding area. The goal is to make transport greener and accessible to everyone, fostering sustainable tourism by adopting this sharing mobility choice. The stations are strategically located in Piazza Sinatra, Lower FS Station, Central FS Station, San Leone Lungomare and San Leone via Nettuno and offer a total of sixty pedal-assist bikes.

"We are thrilled to have launched the bike sharing service in the city. - added councillor Principato - It is a mobility service that is an alternative to using cars or other vehicles. It allows access to ZTL areas and will contribute to the reduction of traffic and CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. It has value from an environmental standpoint and provides a service to citizens and to tourists as well, in anticipation of Agrigento Capital of Culture 2025. We are happy with this result; we made the right choice by placing the stations at points of interest, thus facilitating the interchange between the stations, the bathing areas and the Valley of the Temples."

To pick up a bike, you simply need to download the youMove application for free, for iOS Apple App Store or for Android from Google Play Store, register and manage the operation with a simple click. youMove is a MaaS - Mobility as a Service - fleet management platform that enables the integration of local public transport, allowing users to monitor in real time the availability of vehicles, free spaces and to carry out sharing.

We have always been committed to promoting sustainable mobility for a smarter Sicily; paraphrasing Sciascia, Girgenti is the metaphor of the world, tmr is synonymous with mobility: Catania, Enna, Palermo and now also Agrigento and its beautiful Valley of the Temples - now we are truly ready for the Grand Tour!
