youMove Discovery lights up Sicily: events and points of interest inside the app
The territory moves into the app: with youMove Discovery we have integrated all the summer events in the province of Messina and thousands of points of interest across the provinces of Messina, Catania and Palermo. The map no longer just tells you where to move — it tells you what's worth experiencing around you.
We have long described Discovery as our idea of travel turning into discovery: routes, places and stories inside the same mobility app. Today that vision takes a concrete, all-Sicilian shape.
What we switched on
- Summer events in the province of Messina — over 550 events already in the app: exhibitions, shows and local happenings, each with date, time and distance from you.
- Points of interest in Sicily — over 4,000 points of interest mapped across the provinces of Messina, Catania and Palermo: monuments, museums, attractions, parks and places not to be missed.
It isn't a static catalogue: it's a living layer of the youMove map, designed to be browsed while you move.
How it feels in the app
The new Events section answers a simple question: what's happening near me? You find happenings sorted by proximity and date, with instant filters — near you within a chosen radius, over the coming days, by category. Each event shows where it takes place, when, and how many kilometres away you are, so you can decide on the spot whether to go.
Alongside events, points of interest populate the map together with mobility options: pick your vehicle, follow the route and discover what you meet along the way. It's the same spirit of the cycle tourism we have always offered, now with real local content.
Constantly evolving
What you see today is a foundation that keeps growing. The events calendar and the coverage of points of interest are constantly evolving, and over the coming weeks the goal is to extend the mapping to all of Sicily. Every new province we integrate is one more piece of the territory that citizens, tourists and our partners can experience directly from the app.
Why it matters
For those who promote a territory — municipalities, tourism operators, hospitality businesses — this means combining sustainable mobility and the discovery of what a place has to offer in a single tool.
